100 Roads to Happiness

January 17, 2016

Happiness is different to everyone and that is what this design, featuring the art of Jill Henrickson, is all about.   We asked more than 100 people what makes them happy and each of those answers were woven into this beautiful motif design.

This piece is about more than just spreading happy thoughts. It is also about finding those triggers that can turn a person’s mood or thought process around when they are in a low point. This piece is a chance to have a reminder in your wardrobe or around your house to help those positive thoughts fill your mind.

What do you think of this design?  What images and thoughts does it conjure up in you and how does it help show the world who you are?  Add to the conversation by commenting below.

The colors and imagery in this piece are associated with brightness and joy. Just looking at it, you can’t help but feel a little bit happier, which speaks to the power of art to affect our moods and emotions.

Tiled, or wrapped around a t-shirt print would be great for this one. Even better would be to put it on a great heavy blanket. It’s not often that you see an outsider art-type image that you’d actually like to see writ large- but when they’re so cheerful like this you can just do anything with it.

The image feels like a page out of a teen’s sketchbook, full of ideas and doodles. It’s very fun to stare at for a while and try to get into the artist’s head. Happiness can stem from a lot of things – it’s not cut and dry as the piece depicts.
