Cats are beloved by many on the internet and in the real world, but sometimes they are mistreated or unwanted. Many cats roam free, without being spayed or neutered, having several babies a year, compounding the problem. It is important for people to do their part in making sure these animals are properly cared for and loved, worldwide. This design by Brigid Moore encourages those of us who love cats, to be an advocate for positive changes to make cats’ and humans’ relationships that much better.
Only about 10% of animals received by shelters have been spayed or neutered. With millions of cats killed every year because of lack of room at shelters, this is a compounding problem. Advocate for people to spay and neuter their cats, especially if they let them outdoors. (Do Something)
One important way to advocate for cats is by checking out your local animal rights laws, and writing and organizing to change the law to ensure there are modern animal cruelty, spay/neuter laws, and cat licensing laws in your local community. This gives the law the tools to make positive changes in the community. (Alley Cat)
Question: Would you ever volunteer at your local animal shelter to help care for the cats they receive daily?
